Well I was in the garage for the majority of yesterday, thought it was about time to hang some license plates up on the wall!

As you can see my toolbox gained some OPPO horsepower recently. It also features a giant Ford sticker, Flowmaster, Summit, and Tuff Stuff (Performance Water Pump). Also featured is the MY GARAGE. My Toys, My Tools, My Rules sign that my Mother in Law gave me.

I had the Montego up on the Ramps, still seeking out my coolant leaks, did some gunk removal from under the engine though, it’ll help see where the coolant is actually coming from.
I also did oil changes on the Commander and Milan, it was crazy windy out there so I was chasing the oil stream with the oil pain the whole time, but I made good time and got 2 full synthetic oil changes with upgraded filters for 33 bucks. On Sale plus my $20 credit accumulated made it so I basically robbed Advance for oil changes.
What did you guys work on this weekend?

Yardwork both days for me. And after spending hours raking and mowing, you look out the window this morning and it looks like it did before I even started. :/
Haven’t done any car work in a long time. I REALLY need to give my car a bath. You know the car is filthy when you use the windshield squeegee at the gas station and the water coming off the window is black.

I miss blue plates.

I like old license plates! Reminds me of this really good burger place here in town. Awesome Montego BTW!!!

Since my garage is a piece of shit I have my license plate collection is running along the top of the wall in my basement

How big is that Montego?

More like how tiny is that garage. It’s a brutally small 2 car garage. It’s skinnier than my 07 Mercury Milan and about a foot longer. The lack of a passenger side mirror helps on it’s width haha.

yikes man
And for yardwork I did some leaves saturday morning. I took my riding mower with the chute and bags on and ran em all over and sucked em up. I had to stop every 2 minutes to empty, but a hell of a lot easier than any other way. It was like a lawn vacuum!

Haha, I got a pile of them from my wife’s Grandma. I think I have 4 more of them.

Me too I want to collect all the older year ones. These aren’t that old, the blue trailer one is 80’s, oldest one. I’d like to cover the walls with a bunch of really old ones though.

Haha, at least they’re somewhere! I’m not a huge fan of this garage, it’s the smallest 2 car I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, riding mowers are awesome for that. But as you said, kind of a PITA with having to empty the collector bag every 50 feet.

yeah that part was brutal, I had to take apart the chute which was of course clogged as well.

To the swap meet! Just make sure they’re not re manufactured.

Haha yeah. I’ve just been too cheap to buy any. There’s a nice section on the sidewall (in the Montego picture, just above it’s roof) that would do great with another big set of plates. The old Montego Air Cleaner cover will go up soon over there I think, I might put up the old valve covers too.
Under the hood USED to look like this:
So the lid for that air cleaner (which looks better now than it did in this picture) and the Valve Covers may become “Wall Art”

Cool. I still have some old Michigan plates in a box in the attic of the garage. One is black, one is bicentennial, one says “water- winter wonderland” and a bunch of cycle plates.

badass, if you decide you don’t want them anymore let me know I’d take ‘em! I love the black plates especially

Yeah! I like those air filter covers a lot! Especially when they are aged like that. I wouldn’t mind those old parts like that whenever I own a garage also.

Yeah, they’ll look a lot better on the wall, I’m so glad they’re not under the hood anymore. This is much, much better than it was when I got it:

Oh wow!!!!!! That is nice! Awesome car all around.

Not likely, but will keep that in mind.

Thanks! Yeah it’s awesome, I love having a different muscle car.

Haha, I can’t imagine ever needing to get rid of old plates. if you’re not displaying them, they barely take any space to store.

I dig it sir, congrats!

Michigan needs to bring back the white on blue plates. They are so much better looking than anything they have now, plus you can tell it’s a Michigan plate right away.

Yeah, I like the black with white lettering from waaay back too

Agreed, I actually really like them.
